Much soreness after this weekend’s Spartan race, so YHC promised some yoga-y stuff.
WARMUP:
SSH I.C. to 30, arm circles, Samson stretch, then lunges with a twist. Moseyed to basketball courts.
THE THANG:
First off was a round of dirkens (10), dips (15), and irkins (20).
Then Q got out the dice for some partner suicide exercises. First up was squats and the number rolled was six so the partner total was 60. Monkey humpers for the in-between rest. Next up was 60 again, this time diamond merkins. Next up was 100 bar rows. And then a final 15 monkey humpers.
Did a long round of vinyasa with extra time at each step, and then mosey back to the flags.
MARY:
Side plank raises each side, then butterfly sit-ups, and then butterfly stretches. Then some long hamstring stretches while talking about flexibility and the myths around stretching (beyond long sessions to increase flexibility, the only real benefit according to studies is that it feels good).

Talked about how, similar to a Spartan race, the obstacles the enemy throws at us will often be when we are already tired and not in the best form. Whether that’s due to a lack of posting to F3, or a lack of involvement with friends or other guys, the hardest times will not be as we’re walking out of church. But if we have prepared ahead of time and know how we’re going to deal with difficulties when they do come, we will be better prepared to OVERcome.
