It the F3versary for Tucson! Man, what a year! I can’t say how proud and thankful I am for this region, and for F3 Phoenix’s support. They showed up with 9 HIMs well before the workout started, which made the EC ruckers (CareBear, Flounder, Audit, Capsized, and YHC (Dovetail) wonder if they’d outnumber the locals, but F3 Tucson really showed up too and we had a great beatdown on the hill at Reid Park!

YHC welcomed, gave the disclaimer and the 5 Pillars of F3, we cranked up the tunes, and got rolling!

WARMUP:
Wax On took the warmup and got the huge circle going with gate openers, straight leg kicks, arm circles forward and back, seal claps, overhead claps, copperhead merkins. (Music:

THE THANG:
Going in the order that the AOs were established, YHC took first watch. Goal was to have a square of 4 stations, 3 sets of 4 exercises at 10 reps each, but for the sake of time we made it a triangle and not the extra exercise. Gathered at a large tree at the bottom of the hill, then did a bear crawl en masse back up to the flags. 3 sets:
– 10 perfect merkins
– 10 squat jumps
– 10 v-ups
Crawl bear down the other side of the hill
3 sets:
– 10 dive bombers
– 10 squat jumps OYO
– 10 v-ups OYO
Bear Crawl back to original tree
2 sets:
– 10 archer merkins
– 10 squat jumps OYO
– 10 v-ups OYO

Handed it off to Audit next (Trivia: The Bluff was founded on 6/8/23). We gathered at the bottom of the hill for 11s with a twist. Merkins at the bottom, Monkey Humpers IC at the top, but also at the top, the difference between the two in extra merkins. So:
– 10 merkins, 1 monkey humper + (10-1=9 merkins)
– 9 merkins, 2 MH + 7 merkins
– 8 merkins, 3 MH + 5 merkins
I think we made it to the round of 5 or 6 before having to call it in time. (Will much better than herding cats, 38 PAX do take some extra time to move around, but it was worth it!)

Over to CareBear for Mary a bit early, but we had an FNG to name, announcements and (it turned out) some gifts to exchange, plus Coffeeteria. We all got on our 6 and did Heels to Hell, with a 30-count!
Then Guantanamo Bay, which, with 38 Pax, was quite the burner!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
CareBear presented Glory with a new heavy-duty Tucson style shovel, as when he’s been downrange in Phoenix he’s heard mutterings about a “shovel Tucson stole years ago.” In order to heal old wounds, Tucson gifted Phoenix a new shovel in CareBear’s personal design. Hang on to that one guys :slightly_smiling_face:!

Then the Pax presented YHC a totally awesome workout mug. Almost brought a tear to YHC’s eye. I wouldn’t be where I am and who I am without F3, and it’s been amazing to seek the growth here in Tucson the past year! You all rock!

Focker also announced a Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike coming up in October. $100 deposit, $400 total. 2 days, 25 mile hike in one day. More details as event gets closer.
