Failure is always an option! 43 Feet!
We are F3 Nation!
The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
“Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.”
F3 is…
· Free of charge.
· Open to all men. (and their Children every once and a while.) · Held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or
cold.
· Led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary. · Ends with a Circle of Trust.
Tagalong was targeted, but he came in clutch and nailed it! No Burpees Today!
I am CareBear and I was Q today! I am not a professional, far from it. Please take everything I am going to tell you as a suggestion. This is you versus you, and not a competition. Modify as necessary, push yourself, don’t hurt yourself. Don’t Slice your ankle, and don’t Kata (Jay) your shin. Don’t Wheelie your face! I had a phone, and I am CPR certified.
Warm-Ups:
10 Copperhead Squats IC 4 is 1
8 Copperhead Merkins IC 4 is 1
10 Good Mornings IC 4 is 1
10 Richard Simmons IC 4 is 1 (If you see Squash (Donn Hines) in a store, ask him to do these. It was breathtaking!) And then we ran to the stop sign and back.
The Thang!
Oh this one was fun. We basically had two phases of workouts. The Planning Phase, represented by rifle carrying Cindy out for 43’ and then back to the flag. Then PAX would sprint to the failure area. PAX would then do an exercise to failure and record their results for the May Challenge. Once they failed, Sprint to the flag, carry cindy, sprint back, fail, rinse and repeat.
The Exercises….
BigBoy Sit-ups or WW2s
Curls for the Girls
Merkins
Pull-Ups
Toilet Squats
Tons of bad leadership and bad planning were implemented to make a point. Unrealistic goals, poor time management, and failure to adhere to the 7 P’s of Planning were exemplified. F3 talks a lot about the 43 feet ahead of you. The 43 feet in this case is the immediate future, particularly focusing on making sure the last decision was executed well and thinking about the next one that needs to be made. It is easy to get wrapped up in indecision, strategies that are complex, and analysis paralysis, but an extreme focus on the next 43 feet are what we are after. Constant improvement is what the ultimate objective is.
You have hear of “be 1% better today” well read this quote.
Miyamoto Musashi wrote “Today is a victory over yourself of yesterday; Tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.”
As leaders, we have to have a good vision of where we are headed. Otherwise there is no clarity of mission. In our personal, professional and spiritual life, we should be driving a clarity of mission AND commitment to action.
Go forth and make yourself and your area of influence better, 43 feet at a time.
Time to Get After It.
Prayers for Hawkins, Tag-A-Longs son, and Caution Tape as they are all going through life changes, learning, and decisions that will affect their futures. Parents as well.
